Overview
cPanel & WHM is a Linux-based hosting control panel that provides a graphical interface and automation tools for managing websites, email, databases and DNS. WHM gives administrators server-level control over accounts, packages and services, while cPanel gives each account holder a self-service interface for their own websites. The license does not cap how many cPanel accounts the server may create, so capacity is decided by the hardware rather than by the tier, and it is priced by server type: one rate for a VPS and another for a dedicated server. Softaculous, SitePad and FleetSSL licenses are included and activate against the same server. Licenses are issued per server and are tied to the server IP address.

Installation
cPanel is installed on a clean supported Linux distribution over SSH as root. After the installer completes, the license is activated against your server IP and WHM becomes available on port 2087.
Frequently asked questions
Is a cPanel license tied to my server IP address?
Yes. cPanel licenses are issued against a specific IPv4 address. If you migrate to a new server, the license must be transferred to the new IP before it will validate.
Can I install cPanel on a server that already has a control panel?
No. cPanel requires a clean operating system installation. Installing over an existing control panel such as Plesk or DirectAdmin is not supported.
What is the difference between the VPS and Dedicated prices?
Only the type of machine the license is valid on. Neither caps the number of cPanel accounts you may create — a VPS license costs less because a VPS is the smaller machine, not because it permits fewer accounts.
Do I need to buy Softaculous, SitePad and FleetSSL separately?
Not on this server. All three are included and activate against the same IP address for as long as the cPanel license is active.
How long does activation take?
Licenses are activated automatically after checkout, so the license is normally usable within a few minutes.
