Overview
LiteSpeed Web Server is a commercial web server that acts as a drop-in replacement for Apache. It reads Apache configuration files and .htaccess directives directly, so it can be deployed on an existing server with minimal reconfiguration. Its event-driven architecture handles high concurrency with lower memory use than a process-based server, and LSCache provides server-level page caching for applications such as WordPress, Magento and Joomla.

Installation
LiteSpeed is installed over SSH and can import an existing Apache configuration automatically. On cPanel servers the LiteSpeed WHM plugin handles installation, switchover and rollback.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to reconfigure my sites when switching from Apache?
In most cases no. LiteSpeed reads Apache configuration files and .htaccess rules directly, so existing virtual hosts and rewrite rules continue to work after the switch.
Can I switch back to Apache if something breaks?
Yes. On cPanel servers the LiteSpeed plugin includes a one-click switch back to Apache, and the original Apache installation is left in place.
Is LSCache included with the license?
Yes. LSCache is part of LiteSpeed Web Server; the CMS plugins that control it are free to install.
