What happens after you buy
Checkout completes, the issuer generates the license, and it appears in your account. There is no fulfilment queue between those steps and nobody has to be awake for them to run — which is the whole reason a purchase made at 3am behaves like one made at 3pm.
Server licenses are then validated against the IP address of the machine they run on; software licenses arrive as a product key you enter on the device. Which of the two applies is printed on every product page.
